Why we are a social enterprise

As a social enterprise, Bikeworks generates income through its trading activities, for example Team Building Challenges, Cycle Maintenance Courses, and Cycle Instructor Training Courses. The surplus generated from these activities goes back into providing free-to-access inclusive community cycling initiatives, such as our All-Ability Clubs, where 3,000 people with disabilities and carers attend our regular club sessions for free across London, accessing specialist cycles and our skilled team of Instructors.

Our Story

Bikeworks has built its reputation on inclusive cycling from its inception back in 2006. Now after 15 plus years we are operating 6 static All ability cycling hubs and a mobile van that works across Greater London providing inclusive cycling. As well as this we specialise in delivery of a Cycling for Well-being programme that outreaches to thoses members of our community that either require non-standard cycles to aid mobility or additional barriers to get cycling. These can include mental health, isolation and physical barriers. Our most recent programme, Ride side by side is a cycling taxi service using Van Raam’s Fun 2 Go and Fun train to pickup and actively travel around the capital.

We have learned a lot but still know there is much to do to enable more people to cycle. We have now become London’s premium dealer of non-standard cycles and the brands we represent and models of cycles available allow everyone to have a cycling experience. From our base in the Olympic park we offer a one stop shop that will guide you through the best cycles and accessories to meet your needs.
